Will popularity of Irish private plates nosedive
Northern Ireland has long been a source of ageless private plates for residents in other parts of the United Kingdom. All their numbers have either a Z or a letter I in them so they are easily identifiable. With the recent flare up of trouble in Northern Ireland it has to be wondered whether it will affect the popularity of these registration numbers on the mainland. When things were bad in the province, vehicles with N.I. plates on were viewed with suspicion on the mainland as car bombs were one of the terrorists favourite weapons, since those days N.I. registrations are more abundant.
