The Power of Referrals

My sister-in-law works for a local real estate company, and she often talks about the power of referrals. If a potential client is searching outside of her immediate area, she can still make commissions if she refers them to another real estate agent in the area where they are searching. Recently she helped a couple who wanted more information about homes for sale in Portland Oregon. They were moving to be closer to their extended family, so they had a very specific radius in which they were looking. My sister-in-law was able to contact an agent at a firm in Portland who helped them close their purchase, and she made two percent of the commission. Not a bad deal, really!
