Work Teams Increase Extrusion Training Effectiveness
Forming employee work teams on the production floor is a concept that has been around for a while. However putting employees in teams for extrusion training is relatively new idea. The concept started when it was shown that work teams on the production floor were more effective than traditional single employee efforts. So a few innovative companies decided to put employees together in teams when it came to training. The idea is to have employees go through a comprehensive training program together. Training may last several weeks and groups of four or five employees take each of the training lessons approximately once per week and have a chance to discuss what they have learned and iron out any areas of misunderstanding or difficulties. Taking training this way builds camaraderie between employees and also creates some friendly competition amongst the training teams that are also involved in the same level of training. It’s human nature to want to come out on top and as long as the competition remains friendly, there’s no harm in it.
