First introduced in 1960, the Rolex Daytona was a watch that was well ahead of its time in functionality and design. Even though the time movement was imported from a company in Switzerland called Valjoux, the Rolex craftsmanship can never be missed. Of course, everyone knows that Swiss timepiece movement is among the best in the world, and even though Rolex did create their own internal movement pieces in house for their other watches, the Daytona and its cosmograph were powered by Swiss movement. That has all changed with the introduction of the new Rolex Daytona model. No longer will they be made with imported movement pieces, but with the Rolex durability that has become a cornerstone of the watch world.
